First Draft of the Guideline on Public Consultation

MPC has completed the first draft of the Guidelines for Standardization of Public Consultation Procedures. This guideline is part of MPC efforts to facilitate the implementation of the National Policy for the Development and Implementation of Regulations (NPDIR). It will supplement the Best Practice Regulations Handbook (BPRH) that was published and launched in 2013 by the Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia, YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Ali Hamsa.

This guideline presents important information on the concepts, principles and practices to carrying out adequate public consultation exercises which are fundamental for best practice regulations. This will be a reference for Ministries and agencies in conducting their public consultation exercises. It also will be used as communication to the stakeholders on how public consultation is conducted by the regulator.

MPC seeks feedback, comments and views on the contents in this draft document. We would appreciate your written comments to reach us before  22 August 2014. You can email your comments to: regulatoryreview@mpc.gov.my
